The Short Version
We're not selling your data to anyone!
Not to cruise lines, not to travel agencies, not to that guy who keeps trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty. Your information stays with us for reunion purposes only.
What We Collect
When you express interest in our cruise reunion, we collect:
- Your name (hopefully your real one, not your call sign from '85)
- Email address (we promise not to spam you like the base newsletter)
- Phone number (optional - we're not telemarketers)
- Years of service (so we can properly respect your rank... or lack thereof 😄)
- Transportation specialty (Vehicle Ops, Ground Transport, "I just drove trucks")
- Number of guests (spouse, kids, that friend who "was totally going to enlist")
- Comments (dietary restrictions, mobility needs, complaints about MREs)
How We Protect Your Information
Your data is protected with the same intensity we used to guard the motor pool keys:
- Stored on secure servers (more secure than base housing WiFi)
- Access limited to authorized reunion organizers only
- Encrypted transmission (fancier than our old radio equipment)
- Regular backups (unlike that time someone "lost" the duty roster)
- No data shared with third parties without your permission
Who We Share With
We share your information with:
- Reunion organizers - So they can coordinate the event
- Jennifer Fisher (Travel Agent) - Only if you request flight assistance
- Cruise line - Only necessary booking information when you actually book
- Nobody else! - Not marketers, not data brokers, not even that person who keeps asking "whatever happened to [insert name]?"
Email Communications
If you sign up for updates, we'll send you:
- Reunion planning updates (actually useful information)
- Booking announcements (when we figure out the details)
- Important cruise information (stuff you actually need to know)
- Reminders (because we all forget things more now than we did in the service)
We will NOT send you:
- Spam about other cruises to the Bahamas
- Ads for military surplus gear you don't need
- MLM opportunities from that person from tech school
- Daily motivational quotes about "embracing the suck"
You can unsubscribe anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link or sending us an email. It's easier than getting out of a training exercise.
Cookies & Tracking
This website uses basic cookies to function properly. Think of them like MRE crackers - nobody really wants them, but they're necessary for the experience to work.
- Essential cookies: Make the website work (like having gas in the vehicle)
- Analytics cookies: Help us see what pages people visit (more useful than vehicle inspection reports)
- No advertising cookies: We're not trying to sell you anything beyond this cruise
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data - See what we have on file (it's probably just what you gave us)
- Correct your data - Fix any mistakes (like when someone misspelled your name on orders)
- Delete your data - Remove yourself from our lists (easier than getting off KP duty)
- Port your data - Take it elsewhere (though we'd be sad to see you go)
- Complain - Though we hope you won't need to (we had enough complaints during active duty)
Questions?
If you have questions about this privacy policy, or if you think we're handling your data like a fresh airman handles a classified document, please contact us.
We promise to respond faster than personnel ever responded to your leave requests.
Important Note
This privacy policy was written by veterans, for veterans. While we've tried to be thorough and accurate, if you need serious legal advice about privacy matters, please consult with actual lawyers who charge more than we ever made in the military.
